A near-naked Native American man wanders into a remote Northern Arizona canyon outside of Sedona—unknowingly dead-center into NSA’s most sophisticate ground-grid-satellite surveillance experiment.

As the system’s designer—and as both an award-winning entomologist and NSA’s oldest field-agent—Dr. “Bugman” Beauchrist knows this will be his last mission. He’s gun-weary, sleep-deprived, cancer-weak. He persuades his superiors to let him conduct the test-run on domestic soil before moving his prototype overseas. To make the exercise worthwhile, they’ll observe a “beer, deer,’n bullets” Arizona militia on their annual September maneuver—a challenging but low-risk, “proof-of-concept.”

As Bugman tweaks his controls from a cliff-side camp, the intruder eats flowers, talks to insects, and plays a feather-decorated violin under the neon-sweep of the Milky Way.

NSA’s Mission Intelligence Team—watching Bugman’s streaming HD feed from the comfort of their Ft. Meade, Maryland swivel chairs—jokingly suggest that this odd wild-man somehow matches the profile of Kokopelli; the Southwest’s 1,000-year-old, flute-dancing mystery.

When the mystery explodes into a global disaster, a kaleidoscope of characters tumble into place: a scuff-heeled cowgirl; a Japanese Ainu priest; an abuse-hardened, female bodyguard; a black Moroccan horseman; a cross-dressing cyber-genius; a pearl-heavy courtroom-lioness; a rib-bone coyote; and an extinct turquoise butterfly.

As the intruder’s real identity unfolds, can this wild-man transform an unexpected nuclear tragedy into a global movement of gratitude, redemption, and environmental hope..?

What happens when disturbed men and super-technology mix with the spirit of indigenous people in one of Arizona’s most beautiful canyons..?

TURQUOISE MAN is a Southwestern adventure-thriller about lost souls, the magic of our short existence, and the possibility of extreme longevity.
